G3 Jam: Watch Satch, Petrucci, Collen and Glenn Hughes jam Deep Purple’s Highway Star
Seeing Joe Satriani’s 2018 G3 tour was one of the highlights of the year. Not only did Joe tear the house down, he also brought Phil Collen of Def Leppard and John Petrucci of Dream Theater along for the tour.
If you have the opportunity to see the G3 tour in the future, I highly recommend it. If not, you can see Satriani currently on tour, and Def Leppard and Dream Theater are often on the road.
Now that the tour is over I thought I’d share one of the songs from their G3 jam. After each guitar player has played a solo set, all of them come out for a few songs and do an epic G3 jam.
This year, the G3 jam opened up with Deep Purple’s Highway Star. If seeing Collen, Petrucci and Satch jam wasn’t already awesome enough, they also brought out Deep Purple singer Glenn Hughes for vocals, and wow did he belt out the lyrics.
Hope you enjoy the vid, it’s from February 2018 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.
