How to improve your string skipping

How to improve your string skipping

String skipping can turn run of the mill riffs into really exciting ones. The technique also helps you break out of the box of playing scales up and down the fretboard. Practicing string skipping in your warm up can help you be more accurate as your practice session goes on. Today I want to show you how to improve your string skipping by using a familiar set of patterns that you may already know.

How to easily find notes on the guitar neck

Getting lost on the fretboard is one of the most discouraging things while playing. Today we're going to learn a bunch of different examples to help you never get lost on the fretboard again! All the examples use the octave method to find your way around the fretboard, whether that be high up on the guitar neck or down low.

How do you like to learn?

Every post I write, every email I send out, every link I post on social media, I do it knowing that at the end of the day, I want to make Chasing Sound a site that I'd enjoy as a guitar player.

From years of teaching experience, and research on teaching itself, it's been known that people learn differently.

Today through Monday I'm going to be running a poll to see which way you enjoy learning guitar the most.

I've received lots of great feedback lately about the types of posts you're looking to read. I want to take that information coupled with this poll and make some of the most helpful guitar posts on the internet.

Please let me know if you like learning with audio examples or by ear, by using notation or tab, or by watching video. You can also let me know if you use a combination of all three!

Thanks for reading the site and supporting what I do! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to reach out on Twitter or Facebook.
